Who are CreARTive Writers? 

​

CreARTive wRiTers are the pre-kindergarten painters who share family traditions on canvas with a finger and paint.  They are our elementary photojournalists who are capturing a neighbor’s life story with photographs, not words.  They are the tween poets that use couplets, not text, to tell their community that “enough is enough.” They are the high school political satirist that can transform a neighborhood’s frustration into a humorous expression of change.  They are our youth whose creative spirits and imaginative minds express who they are, what they believe, and who they are becoming through the power of a paintbrush and a pencil.

creARTive Workshops: 

​

Our art and writing workshops cultivate, encourage, and inspire both young artist and writers to tap into their creative hearts and limitless imagination.  Each work produced and publish are portfolio ready for your creARTive wRiTer to submit to either part of a school admissions process or art/writing contest.  

​

creARTive wRiTers' workshops are currently being offered to both public and private learning centers/schools (pre-k to 8th grade) in Washington County, MD.

The CreARTist Behind creARTive wRiTers

Intertwining her spiritual gifts, appreciation for the arts, and love of education; Mrs. Kanika is a CreARTive educator with over 15 years of professional teaching experience in both elementary and middle school as well as an independent author and illustrator of children picture books.
